Course structure

Weeks 1–2: Intensive grammar

Using a course book, audio and extensive exercises, you systematically build your A1 foundations – pronunciation, sentence structure and basic vocabulary.

The grammar book is included in the course and is yours to keep.

Weeks 3–4: Live speaking practice through the NALEX app

You join a club, take on a fixed role and solve your first more complex language tasks with other members in live conversations.

After every session, you receive direct feedback on pronunciation, grammar and expression.

Optional reading: Reading Club

You'll learn to:

  • introduce yourself and talk about your everyday life
  • use essential A1 grammar with confidence
  • ask and answer simple questions
  • build a solid basic vocabulary
  • manage your first everyday situations independently in German

Frequently asked questions

Good questions, clear answers.

Do I need previous knowledge?

Some basic knowledge is recommended. Whether you have learned German on your own or already completed an A1 course, this programme helps you turn passive knowledge into active communication. Through stories and guided conversations, you will practise speaking naturally, build confidence and use German in everyday situations.

How many participants are there?

Groups are kept small, with a maximum of 10 participants, so there is room for speaking practice and personal feedback.

What happens if I miss a lesson?

You will still have access to the digital learning materials and practical homework. Please contact us for guidance on catching up.

Will I receive a certificate?

You will receive a certificate of participation after completing the course.

How much homework is there?

Expect short, practical tasks each week. They help you revisit the story and prepare for the next live lesson.

What equipment do I need?

A reliable internet connection, a computer or tablet, a microphone and a quiet place to join the live online lessons.

Can I continue with A2 afterwards?

Yes. After A1, you can continue with our A2 course and keep building your confidence through the next story.
